No one loves a beauty bargain more than I do. Sometimes you have to get crafty if you want to keep your cosmetic addiction at least somewhat affordable. Just about anything is easier to get on sale because the department stores just lay it out there. End of season! 50% OFF! The beauty counters never hang out the red tags… what’s up with that? It’s OK, you just have to know where to look.
This website is chock full of discontinued beauty buys and overstocked items, and it is also an awesome way to get your hands on limited edition MAC products that you may have thought were gone forever. They’ve also got Bobbi Brown, NARS and Urban Decay, just to name a few.
Tucked away in many Sephora and ULTA stores is a corner with bins full of discounted makeup. What’s even better is the online sale section. The link to it is right at the top of the home page for Sephora and on the menu bar for ULTA. Hit them up after the holidays. Those unsold gift sets have to go somewhere!
Urban Decay, Smashbox and many other brands have a sale section on their website. You may have to sign up for the loyalty program. I have a junk e-mail account just for this purpose. It’s also a great way to get notified of promotions and sales.
Everyone is raving about this flash sale site. Some brands and items turn up there constantly. It can be a great way to try new brands that are hard to get on the ground. Be prepared to buy if you see something you want, it won’t be there for long.
The beauty section at Nordstrom Rack stores is a great place to score a sweet deal on high end makeup. When they changed the packaging on Urban Decay Primer Potion, I was able to get a tube for half price.
These stores are tucked away in outlet malls. They sell all the Estee Lauder brands (meaning half the counters in any given department store) at about 1/3 off of retail or more.
