Coachella has come and gone another year, and many of us know more about the fashion from the event than we do about any band that might have played there. Street style shots from bloggers, vloggers and celebs in attendance abound. The new look of festival fashion is very much an updated throwback to the free-lovin’ 60s style defined by Woodstock. It’s very much the same boho chic style sense. I imagine Janis Joplin would be quite at home there.
I was loving all the flowing fabrics and cool jewelry. These are six style trends that set the tone for the whole event.
Fringe bags, fringe booties, fringe bikini tops… lots of fringe. It’s a great way to add some shaggy chic to an outfit.
When you’re wearing next to nothin’, a flowing bit of breezy fabric is a great way to elevate a crop top and short shorts to a gorgeous fashion moment. When you throw a bit of lace, crochet or embroidery into the deal, I’m all in. Add some sleeves for a practical layering option.
Gladiator sandals were walking tall at the festival this year.
The Arm Party
You all know I’m all about that arm party. Apparently, I’m in good company! All the Victoria’s Secret models decorated their wrists with plenty of arm candy. Be sure to include earthy elements like wood, leather, and antiqued metals to keep the boho festival vibe.
This is the season to get your glow on, but walking around all day in the hot sun with full on cake face is a quick ticket to sweat city. Start with a light, hydrating base like Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue and top it off with a gorgeous highlight like MAC MSF in Gold Deposit or Soft and Gentle.
Dainty, delicate chains dipping down into a low-neck summer top is a sexy summer look and a festival go-to style.
